Christmas, relatives and all that ho ho hum

Merry Christmas!

Aren't you glad it's over?

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. The tree, the prime rib we have Christmas day, having the grandkids here. But...

5 minutes.

That is about the average time for kids to unwrap everything including things that aren't for them. Like the sexy nighty Daddy got mom or the boxers with big red lips that she got him.

To get to that 5 minutes of present opening there is about a month, or more, of prep. The shopping lists, the to do before company comes list, the wash this, wear that, clean, dust, wax, cook this, go here, go there!

All that buildup for weeks and it comes down to about 5 minutes of opening.

Ack!!!!

What I really love about Christmas is the peace on earth, good will toward all, seeing relatives you haven't seen since last year, getting a hug from my 12 year old grandson. I love all these things and more, like having a younger sister who is the coolest person on planet earth. That's you G !

I hope everyone had a most excellent holiday and may you all have a very happy New Year's Eve. We will be at home watching the apple drop in Times Square. Hope Dick Clark makes it.
